'Sliders' slips back on Fox

Fox has picked up MCA TV's action-adventure series "Sliders'' as a mid-season replacement series for next season.

"Sliders'' premiered March 22 and aired Wednesdays 9-10 p.m. through May 17, averaging a 7.2 rating/11 share. "Party of Five'' averaged a 6.6/10 in the same slot earlier in the season, while "Models, Inc.'' averaged a 7.3/11 in the slot from the begining of the season until December, according to A.C Nielsen Co. numbers.

"Sliders'' will began airing in repeats Sunday in the 7-8 p.m. block. "Sliders,'' the story of four adventurers who travel to parallel universes, was created by Robert Weiss and Tracy Torme and is produced by St. Clare Ent. and distributed by MCA Television Ltd.
